PORTLAND

We were spoiled, and got to go on a trip to Portland to see my mom. It was great...the only downfall was daddy was not there with us....: (

The first day we were there, we got to see where my mom golfs every Saturday. It was a really pretty course, close to a race track. Then we had dinner, and after dinner we went to a cute little park, to feed the ducks, and play on the toys.

The second day we got to go to the International Rose Test Garden. It is this huge garden of test roses. I guess they test out different kinds to see what works. There were some interesting roses there.... Then because it was 104 degrees outside, we went to OMSI for the afternoon. We looked at different displays, solved crimes at the CSI unit, saw a IMAX movie about the ocean, and learned all different kinds of things. Aydan spent most of his time in OMSI in the childrens science center. He got to play with water, sand, playdough, paint, and a ton of other stuff. He really liked the hearing display....because he got to talk on the phone...that was pretty cool to him!!

Monday we went to Multnomah falls. It was a really beautiful waterfall, and going there to look at it, cooled us off from the heat. Aydan sucked down this huge jolley racher popsickle, and fell asleep in the car on our ride to see other scenic views.

Tuesday we went to SEASIDE!!! YAY! It was the first time for both Aydan and I to stick our toes in the Pacific Ocean. It was perfect weather also! Instead of being 104, like it was in Portland, it was 82, which was awesome!! Aydan liked the ocean and all, but was a little unsure of it. The second day at the beach was much better. He was forced to go down to the water, but once he was there, we couldn't get him out of the water. He loved the waves, that crashed up on his legs. He would chase the waves up the beach, then chase them back towards the ocean. He liked the feeling of the sand eroding beneath his feet as the tide sucked the water back into the ocean. He loved the way the sand felt in his hands. He loved that he picked out a shell to bring back to daddy..... HE LOVED IT!!! He also loved all the snacks we had packed back on the beach to eat whenever. It was a great time!!
