September 12, 2011, our hero came
HOME
for good!
He was supposed to come home on Friday September 9th, but his leaders forgot to tell him. He was then rescheduled another flight for Saturday September 10th, and someone from the Idaho Falls Armory called me, to inform us of his flight, but by the time I got the word to Justin, he had missed the bus to go to the airport. Then Sunday....nothing.
Monday morning Justin got a Charter flight into IF! His plane landed about 11:45ish!
We were SO excited! It was a long weekend, let alone a long year!
It was hard to wait in the Hangar!
Here are some "waiting" pics!
Then his plane finally touched down!
So EXCITED! Happy day for mommy!
Justin was the very last one out of the plane (of course), he is just so dang polite. It drove me nuts waiting...as well as the boys! We weren't aloud outside of the Hangar, but Aydan saw his dad, and ran! Our sweet Aydan-Bug was so relieved to have his daddy in his arms, the poor little guy cried. Like I said, it was a long YEAR!
Justin is the very last guy...
Lots of hugs...
of relief.
HE'S HOME, HOME FOR GOOD!

it was a very long year for our little family. It taught us a lot, and gave us inspiring strength, but we don't ever want to do it again! I'm very proud of Justin and his amazing ability to handle everything that is thrown his way. He is mentally strong, and I am too, which has made this year a learning experience.
For me I learned that I really am a lot stronger than I give myself credit for. This year has taught me what lonely is. What patience really means. What guidance from my creator can do. That cooking for 1 and 3 quarters is tricky, which lead to un-planned weight loss for me. Chicken nuggets only went so far! Ha! Ha!
But most of all this year taught me about marriage. A good marriage. What Justin and I have isn't all balloons and cupcakes. We work hard at our relationship, and understanding of each other's needs, and emotions. We made this year the most that we could, and we did it with flying colors! I am proud of us, and I am so ready to sit back and enjoy my wonderful life with my amazing husband, and awesome kiddos!
Who knows what this next year could bring? Or the years that follow? I don't know, I'm just grateful for a safe return, and that I no longer have to worry about such things as, 'husband at war'!
Our family.
OUR ENTIRE FAMILY.
Has been an incredible strength for me this past year. I can't believe how lucky I am to not only know them, but to have them as mine! Thank you for all of your support.
He is the reason for my strength.
He is why this was not impossible.
He is my everything, and I am so grateful that i can hold him in my arms EVERY SINGLE DAY!
My husband is a great man.
He is a
HERO.
These two wanted to help daddy so much with carrying his gear around it was so cute!
All these growing boys.
They were hungry, and needed a quick snack on the Hangar floor.
We went to lunch at Chili's and then the 4 of us went
HOME
together.
We enjoyed Panda Express, and we each got to blow out a candle on a cupcake to celebrate our exhausting year of success!
It was fun, and all little kids like to blow out candles!
Our year is over. For good. And now we only have each other and our family life to worry about! I'm excited for this next year, and all the adventures that are awaiting.
I am now a proud War Veteran's wife.
That's so freaking
cool.
