Before you get too concerned...it's not that serious! Sunday afternoon, while we were in Tooele, I went to give Aydan a love touch on his head, and noticed a huge soft spot! I freaked out immediately...( I hate that I do that...but I always think the worst) After about 20 minutes of getting every one's opinion, Justin and I decided that it was time to got to the hospital to see just what it was. After about an hour of waiting...I finally got a call back from Dr. Baker...Aydan's Pediatrician. He told us that he thought Aydan might have a broken blood vessel between his skull and top layers of his skin, and that his body would break it down and it would eventually go away. After that phone call my nerves eased up a bit. I was so blubbery that Aydan kept saying, "It's okay mommy!" I somehow knew it was going to be okay, but I get so scared! Finally the Doctor came in and told us exactly what Dr. Baker told us and that there was no need to take x-rays because Aydan didn't seem to be in any pain, (like he fractured his head) and was acting normal. ( no weird eyes, actions, and was not in any major pain.) Dr. Antinori ( the ER doc) gave us a list of things to look for if the injury was more serious, and said Aydan was fine and that the pool of blood would go away eventually. While we were being discharged a nurse came in and tried to give Aydan a cute little teddy bear...but Aydan didn't want it...he was ready to go!
WHAT IS A HEMATOMA??A hematoma is a collection of blood under the top skin layers, causing a hard painful lump. Hematomas happen as a result of and injury (fall, kick or blow) and can occur on any part of the body. The symptoms include pain, swelling and discoloration to the injured area. The swelling and dis colorization can extend beyond and around the exact area of the injury. As the hematoma goes away, the blood is broken down and reabsorbed by the body. As this happens, the area will change color from dark purple to light purple and even yellow until it returns to normal.
Our brave boy is ok, and hopefully will recover normally...without any problems. He gives us scares all the time....Ohhhhhhhhhh I'm just going to have to get over the fact that I have a very busy son... and there will probably be a lot more injuries....but hopefully NOT in the next year or more! I would just like him to be in a giant bubble....but how can a little boy experience "boy" stuff like that? Ha!Ha! It's hard letting go...little by little!

We always have such a good time when you guys come to visit. Dillon keeps telling me he needs to go up to Idaho to check on Aydan. I'm glad that Aydan is doing better, it is always a scare for a mother to wonder what's going on with their baby, but I am glad he is okay! We need to plan more get togethers they are so much fun!!
We are so glad that Aydan was ok! It's so scary when your kid has something like that! It was fun traveling with you guys and "trying" to keep the boys entertained!
