Thank you all very much for your kind thoughts and words. (From last Post) It's greatly appreciated!
We love all of you!
Well, we've been trying to stay busy...but we are SICK and TIRED of the RAIN! Anyone else?
We got a new Bike Trailer to haul around the kiddos as a b-day present to me! Yay! We Love it, and have been on several trips already! The boys are mesmerized by it, and don't make a peep the whole ride! It came with a front wheel attachment so it can convert into a stroller. It has lots of storage space; good for all the snacks we need! It is also really light. We can hardly tell that we're pulling something behind our bikes. Justin and Aydan got new bikes too! Aydan hasn't been able to ride much outside, do to the rain! He's so funny...he puts on his helmet, and says, "Mom, I got to keep this on, so my brain can stay safe."
Ready to Go!
Mom and Dad are Excited Too!
Here we Go!
One down.....
Two down....
They both fell asleep by the time we were done riding! So Sweet!
Cutie Pie Traceon!
The boys have been taking baths together! It's so much faster and easier for mom and dad! Plus they LOVE it! Aydan is just so excited that he has a playmate!
Umm...do I need to say it? CUUUUTTTTEEEE!
Splashin'
Some Adorable pics of Tra and the Johny Jump!
This is what daddy looks like by 8 o'clock at night! He works so hard!
Aydan has been interested in changing Traceon lately! So funny! Traceon's wiggly and kicks, and it's hilarious to see Aydan try to handle that!
Aydan is seriously the best fit for the BIG BROTHER role! He's so sweet and nurturing! He such a good kid!
We went to the Eye doctor yesterday! I was so nervous the entire day! We've been so anxious to find out how we can help our little guy! Seriously, I was very close to throwing up, and crying as we were walking into the doctors office! I was so scared we were going to get in there and the doc was going to say....well your son can't see. Ugh....BUT....HE CAN!! Both eyes are perfect and see very well! It's the eye muscles that are the problem! GOOD NEWS! I say that because at least
MY BABY CAN SEE!!!
We were hoping and praying for this to be the issue....and it is! (It is the most positive outcome of crossed eyes.)
The doc did a number of tests on the little guy. He measured him for glasses....figured out that glasses would not help (cause
MY BABY CAN SEE),
he made Traceon follow objects....figured out that
MY BABY CAN SEE,
and dilated Tra's eyes and looked inside for things like cataracts....but Traceon has very healthy eyes....but those dang muscles are not so strong!
The diagnosis is called, INFANTILE ESTROPIA. Infantile meaning crossed eyes inward, and Estropia meaning crossed eyes.
To fix this will require Traceon to have eye surgery. Right now we are doing weekly appointments to the doctor because the left eye muscle is a little stronger than the right one, so Traceon has to wear a patch over the left (to strengthen the right, by making it work). This is just a surgical preparation. Doc wants both eyes muscles to be about the same strength before surgery.
The doctor we went to see is Dr. Aaron Affleck. We really like him and have a good feeling about him. He has done several surgeries on little ones, and has had zero complications, and zero follow up surgeries. There were a lot of little things we liked about him as well. Like, he didn't use the thingymajig to pry Tra's eyes open. He just played with Traceon and got him to follow objects just fine without it! (Important to a parent.) He also prefers to do surgeries at the Idaho Eye Surgical Center for this reason; at the hospital they put the IV in before they put the little guys down, resulting in lots of minutes of your little one being poked and prodded to find a vein. The eye center puts them down before they start poking. (Also important to a parent.) The Eye Center also has a really good "special" surgical team just for these kind of surgeries.(Very important to a parent.) He also likes to perform the surgery when the babes are from 9-12 months because the Anesthesia is kinda scary. He said that Traceon's kind of a big kid anyway, and probably will do perfectly fine. Anyway, we have a really good feeling about him, but we still haven't made final decisions yet on him, or Primary Children's.
Traceon will have eye surgery in August no matter what though...so we can do it before Justin leaves. Doctors are very gracious to us Army families!
Here's Traceon sporting his eye patch! Aydan was calling him Pirate Traceon!
So cute! I'm so glad we will be able to get this fixed, and
MY BABY CAN SEE!
