We had such a WONDERFUL weekend! It was full of surprises, excitement, adventures, creativity, celebration, and most of all LOVE!
We celebrated Aydan's 4th birthday PIRATE STYLE!
I had so much fun planning his party...that I think I may have gotten a little carried away! I kept everything a secrete from Aydan, and gave threats out to anyone who would potentially ruin his surprise! It was a busy week for me. I had a couple really late nights...since I couldn't do anything while Aydan was around!
Thursday my sister Melanie and her boyfriend Ryan came from Boise to celebrate and spend the weekend with us! That was the night I conquered the cake and totally made cookie pops with help decorating them from the sis. I had purple hands in the morning from all the black and red food coloring. That morning (Friday) was the morning I volunteered at Aydan's preschool, and all the kids kept asking me what was wrong with my hands. Too funny!
Aydan got to wear this BIRTHDAY HAT while at school!
Hear are the party invitations! A pirate message in a bottle, equipped with eye patch, skull ring, and sand!
So 4 friends from school got to come and play! Chloe, Brant, Bryson, and Jacob! Tommie, Cru, and Kylar (the cousin's) were able to celebrate also! Collin and Traceon hung out and were being cute as usual.
Here is a good look at what the living room looked like! I made the banner with a friends cricut machine, and totally transformed our rocking chair box into "THE SAVAGE SHARK" pirate ship for the little ones to play in!
This is the Pirate transformation table, where everyone turned into a pirate before heading out to sea!
The banner turned out so good! I'm going to need a cricut real soon I think...I used it A LOT for several things for A's party!
We had GIANT wall decal all over the house to set the mood....they were so fun and I figure I could use them for future Halloween parties!
The dining room, where all the treats were! I made Aydan's whole cake from scratch, and his cookie pops. There was also strawberry crush in bottles, and yummy watermelon rock suckers! SOOOO FUN!
The cookie pops were something that I've been wanting to do for awhile. I made Glace` Icing, that smoothed out for the glossy look! They were fun...but I need some more practice and my frosting writing....Yikes! i also made "A's" for Aydan and "4's" cause he's four! I still can't believe we have a four year old! FYI-Aydan is now the oldest in his class...cool beans!
The Birthday Boy!
Tommie
Chloe (friend from school)
At the first of the party we all sat down at the pirate transformation table and transformed! We put on pirate tattoo's, bandanna's, pirate hats, and eye patches. Everyone was also given a look out telescope, and a sword!
ARRRGGGG!
Me and Aydan all ready as PIRATES! Oh BTW I made Aydan's shirt also from a cut out off the cricut, and freezer paper, oh and some acrilic paint! AWESOME!
After everyone was all dressed up they played pirates in the "SAVAGE SHARK" It was so much fun! SO cute...what a good idea that ship was!
Melanie and Ryan as pirates!
One game was a CANNONBALL FIGHT with balls of black tissue paper! It was pretty funny!
Aydan's getting pegged in the butt!
Trace however did not enjoy this game...
Look at all the cute PIRATES!
Here they are gathering COINS for the next game!
The coin toss! Toss as many coins as you can into the treasure boxes!
Everyone got some candy after that...
Then we played "Pin the flag on the X"! I didn't get a picture of Aydan (so hopefully someone did!) but he put his flag right on the X...and he was the first one to go!
Then we totally had some good whacks at the PIRATE SHIP PINATA! So cute! Aydan really wanted one this year...so I couldn't let him down!
I let the BIRTHDAY BOY go twice...and even took his blind fold off...but the darn ship wouldn't crack!
So...we RIPPED it open!
I did have a treasure hunt planned, but we got started a lot later than I wanted, so we had to make do without it!
Then it was present time! Aydan got some awesome stuff and was very thankful for everything!
Trace...he didn't really know what was going on, and why all these people were in his house. He mostly ran around, confused and ignored. Poor little brother! He did however LOVE the balloons! And he got lots of candy I'm sure...cause it was all up in his hair!
Aydan's giving Traceon a hug, thanking him for the presents Trace got him! Too sweet!
Then it was CAKE time!
I'm really proud of Aydan's Pirate cake! I think it turned out really cool....and it was pretty delicious...which is always a bonus! YEE!
CANDLES!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!
Silly boy's covering his ears when everyone was clapping!
YUMMMMMMYYYYY!
Aydan with all of his BIRTHDAY LOOT!
Some more decorations that were all around the house!
Aydan had such a wonderful time having everyone over for his party! It was an awesome time and I'm so glad he got to have some friends over for the very first time! Everything went so great and makes me think I can handle even more blow out birthday's in the future! Thank you everyone for coming! It was amazing and meant everything to Aydan for you to make his day extra special!

After the party, came dinner time so we had pizza from Papa Murphy's with G&G Snyder, Aunt Mel, Ryan, Dan, Keri, and all kids! It was a great time and was time for another surprise for Aydan!

Aydan also got one more surprise!
KARATE lessons!
He starts Tuesday, and goes twice a week for five weeks! He told me he wants to be like Kung Fu Panda!
These two cuties were playing so cute this morning with all of Aydan's new cars and his new car garage! I have the FUNNEST KIDS EVER!
I can't believe it has already been 4 years since we had our Aydan! Time goes so fast! I just want to savor every minute! He is such a great kid and really deserved to have a big bash for his birthday! I gave him birthday spanking's and a pinch to grow an inch, and he looked at me and said, "What did you do that for? I don't want to grow, I want to be your little Aydan-Bug forever!" I almost bawled! I want him to be my bug forever too! He is missing his dad a lot lately, and it is so hard to talk him through what is actually happening. He is so analytical and precise about how he handles every thing from getting dressed to what we're going to do tomorrow, so we do a lot of talking which I think helps a lot. I love him with all my heart! I'm so happy we had him! Even though I joke all the time that Traceon's our easy kid...I wouldn't change Aydan for anything in the world! I love just the way he is! He makes life fun and interesting!
Happy 4th Birthday kid!
