Mardi Gras Party!

Tuesday March 8, was
MARDI GRAS!
So I decided it would be a good excuse to have a party and try out some SOUTHERN food!
It's always fun to eat, chat, and play with family and friends!
I made
GUMBO
JAMBALAYA
BEIGNETS
CUPCAKES
When I went to Biloxi, Mississippi in November to visit Justin we had some really good Gumbo, and all other kinds of famous Southern food, so it was fun for me to try it out in OUR kitchen!
Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday".
It is a celebration before "Ash Wednesday" the start of a 40 day Lenten period. Lent is a 40 day journey on giving up some of lifes indulgences to show your faith.
So...
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
(Let the good times roll! In French!)

Cupcakes!
They were of course the famous Mardi Gras colors... and I flavored them grape, lemon, and lime...because it was fun!
We totally had to have MASKS and BEADS!
Traceon...he liked the Gumbo, and the beignets, and the cupcakes, and all the attention!
GREEN, YELLOW, and PURPLE POP!
Collin really enjoyed the BEADS!
Art and Jennifer!
MASKS!
It was a great time! Good food, good fun, and good company!

NOW...
Can we talk about
LOST?
It's the most amazing show I've ever seen! Watch it! The whole dang series! I can't believe the impact it has had on me. I'm all about
Life.
Possibility.
Truth in who you are.
Soul Finding.
Team Work.
Faith in whatever it is you believe in.
Everyone has a purpose, and it's your choice on how you choose to find it, and use it.
It doesn't matter what other people think in what you believe in.
 Only you.
Right vs. Wrong. Good vs. Evil.
Too many people take too much of what the world is projecting as their own reality that they forget to find themselves.
 It's sad.
They're so concerned about what to wear, what to watch, how to act, that they forget to make choices for themselves.
And the worst thing of it all is that most of them think that they actually are making decisions by themselves when in fact they are only bouncing off ideas they have seen, and copy it into their story.

Life is about making choices that affect you as a person. It's the way to find you, and it's your responsibility to yourself on keeping true to you.
To find happiness within your being.
It's the people who "get it" who are the lucky ones in this life.
The world is full of awful things, but it's also full of such beauty.
It's hard not to get sucked in, but remembering that you have a purpose for yourself should always be going through your head.
This show reminded me of what I want to take out of life. No, I don't mean becoming obsessed with the actors, or fantasizing over something that isn't real. I mean holding on to me. Making sure that my children know that what's most important to me for their life, is finding themselves for only them, and not to please me.

It's a brilliant show. Very entertaining. I think I bawled, I mean sobbed every other episode, and of course the finale...the entire 43 min show I was in tears.
AAAAAMMMAAAZZZIIIINNNNGGGGG!

BTW: HUSBAND'S COMING HOME FOR A VISIT AROUND EASTER!
