So with baby #4 being a huge surprise, I had NO IDEA what my due date was. My doctor in IF calculated May 17th just from measurements alone, but wasn't sure that that was going to be accurate, since it was really early in the pregnancy.
I was so pleased with that due date because.....IT IS MY BIRTHDAY! It was a nice little surprise on top of a surprise "tag along" baby!
December 1st was my first doctor's appointment with my new doctor in Boise! I was excited because she told me over the phone that she wanted to do a quick ultrasound to see how baby was doing! I was 16W2D, and she said if we were lucky that we might get to see what gender the baby was!
I wasn't too concerned about knowing the gender at that point because I knew it was early. I was really just hoping for the same due date (my birthday!)
Here is a ultrasound profile picture of our 4th baby!

With luck, baby calculated the same due date, May 17th, by measurements!
WHAHOO! So fun!
While we had our ultrasound, the tech was just looking around in there to see if baby was doing okay, and when it came time of the gender part, she said that the baby's "parts" were still developing, and she wasn't going to guess. OH WELL! Baby looked great, but there was a concern with a small sack like growth on my uterus. My new doctor referred me to a Maternal Fetal Medicine doctor to get a better look at what was going on!
A little concerning, especially since both the ultrasound tech and the doctor didn't know what it was at all!
3 days later, we were in a different doc's office! This time the equipment was a bit more high tech and the ultrasound tech specialized more on concerning pregnancies, needless to say, she was SUPER thorough! Then the actual Maternal Fetal Medicine doc came in and he was also SUPER thorough! We were in the the doctor's office for almost 3 hours! Justin was there for some of the time, but couldn't stay for the full 3 hours. I had both Lincoln and Traceon with me, and they did really well despite being cooped up in a dark ultrasound room for a really long time!
Well for being on a table, with my shirt up, and my belly out, for 3 hours, we did find some things out!
First, we learned that our baby was doing great, and growing perfectly!
Here is a profile pic.
Body/Stomach pic!
Baby was positioned head up in this pic!
Leg shot!
Arm and finger shot!
Arms/hands up by face shot! So precious!
Foot and toes shot!
Finger shot!
Lips and nose shot!
Then came the telling of the gender! Ultrasound tech said, "Looks like a little girl!"
I will always remember that moment! My eyes welled up with tears as I looked at Justin who had the most genuine "happy for you look" on his face!
We did learn that there is a mysterious sack on the outside of my uterus. It is not concerning, nor affecting the baby in any way. I have to go into the Maternal Fetal Medicine doc to have ultrasound check ups every few weeks, just to keep an eye on it! Right now they think that it might be a weird bubble from my past uterine scar from having csection's. Updates on this, and if course on our baby girl, to follow!
Another profile picture of our precious baby girl!
After 7 years of boy's and nothing but "boy stuff," Justin and I are both really excited to be adding a little girl to our family! It has taken some time to get used to the idea though!
That night Justin brought home pink roses to celebrate!
Aydan and Traceon are both really excited to have a little sister! Aydan said, "I've always wanted a sister my whole life!" when we told him! Haha! Funny kiddo!
I'm excited for all the pink, bows, and frillies! But, I'm most excited to see my boy's with a little sister! And MOST excited to see my hubby with a baby girl! She's going to change some lives up in this family for sure!
