Our Big Boy, Grandma Chris, Back to the Grind, My Boys, and the NY Giants!

So here's a good ol' fashion update for ya!
I figured I needed to get one in pretty quick, we have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us!
WARNING: Poop, pee, underwear, and toilet talk and pictures.

First on the list is
POTTY TRAINED TRACEON IN 2 WEEKS!

Yes, our 2 year and 2 1/2 month old BOY is potty trained! YEE! He even goes by himself (like without being pulled into the bathroom and forced to sqeeze some out!)
I knew he was ready about a month ago, but our January was jam packed with activites, so I decided to start him after the busy stuff settled down.
He was so excited to get BIG BOY "unwear". Of course he got to pick them out, and they are an assortment of BOY Disney movies, which means he has some wicked cool BUZ LIGHTYEAR "unwear's!"
For you that know Trace, he's NEVER liked to go #2......but good news!
He's realized that you don't have to hold it in!
This was concerning to me when we started potty training him. I thought it was either going to go super well (like it did) or he was not going to have ANYTHING to do with going #2 in the toilet! Silly kiddo! So proud of our CASE! He's grown up so much these last few months! It's amazing to me how smart he is! I thought Aydan was a smartie-pants until I met the Little Brother!
(Although I'm pretty sure Little Brother gets lots of info, motivation, and lessons from the Big Brother, since he has to DO EVERYTHING Aydan does!)

This was Traceon's 2nd time going PEE on the potty!
( We teach our boys to sit to pee first before we start teaching them to stand.)

I have a few other "unwear" pics, but this is my favorite! It shows his cute little personality! Trace has a great imagination just like A-Bug, and claimed he was going to work while I was taking this picture.
Traceon nailed peeing while sitting, so on to standing up lessons! He's so cute! Look at his trucks! Man, I just love him!
So we were giving Trace potty treats, which were candy. Great motivation, but, let's face it, candy is just not the best! So we started giving him stickers instead....and they're just as satisfying!
Tra is still wet at night about 2 times a week, but we're okay with that! No more diapers!
Way 2 GO Traceon!

Grandma Chris came to stay with us for a couple of days, and this is the only picture I got! Aunt Melanie, Ryan, Great Grandma Rosemary, and Great Grandpa Vern came for a visit too! It's nice for us to get together!

Justin has started school again! He's really enjoying his Health Finance class, but is ready to be done with school! He's planning on graduating in December! So yay!
I'm so proud of Justin! He was feeling a little annoyed the other night about school, and I HAD to point out the obvious factors....
Justin will have been enrolled in school for 4 1/2 years (that's 9 semister's) when he graduate's. Yes he's taken 2 full years off (to join the Army and go to Basic Training, as well as serve a Tour in Baghdad, Iraq) while raising a family. That's just plain amazing! He has also made it so I could/can stay at home with our young children, which is important to both of us! I feel so blessed to be married to such a man!
School requires lots of energy, that sometimes just isn't there....so J-man needs some pick-me-ups! All pre-packaged, and ready to go to school!

Our boys are fun!

This is Aydan running around the house....as a Superhero! Funny pic...just before I took this pic, I told him he needed to take a nap. When Aydan cry's about taking a nap, it means he NEEDS one, and when he dosen't cry, he stays up. It's my daily test.
He was about to cry, until I needed a Superhero pic.
Here are the boys snuggled up in their cute puppy and frog sleeping bags, ready for a movie!
I went down one afternnoon to wake up Traceon from his nap so we could go get Aydan from pre-school, and I couldn't find him. Can you see him?
Trace the FIREMAN! We play a lot of dress up in this house!
All my cute boys! I'm one lucky gal!
Funny pic of Trace in time-out! This one has quite the TEMPER!
"But MOM, why can't I mess in the fridge, make a mess, then throw a fit when you tell me to stop!"
The Super Bowl was fun! Justin hates the Patriot's so much that he went out and bought us all NY Giant's shirts for good luck!
I guess it worked, because they WON!

I've been doing something fun for Justin every day of February counting up to Valentine's day, and have fun stuff planned for our boys!
Justin has promised a "complete" Valentine's date night! I say "complete" because it's not if you don't see a chick flick! And this year.....Star Wars in 3D seems to be getting in the way!

A Quarter of a Century, and FORE years Old!

Justin turned
A QUARTER OF A CENTURY
on January 21, 2012!

Our family was all suffering from colds, so we took it slow on Daddy's B-Day!

Justin really likes the steak at the Firehouse Grill, and so we decided to go out and celebrate! We went at a weird time (like 3 in the afternoon) because we had been sleeping all day, and woke up super hungry! It was yummy, and afterwards we went and go a Cookie Dough Ice Cream Cake! Justin's favorite is Ice Cream Cake!

We recently got a TRIPOD for our camera and tried it out for the first time before we went out to dinner!
Our Family on the day Justin turned a quarter of a century!
The boys before we dug into the cake!
Happy Birthday, and Make a Wish!

I'm so grateful to have Justin as my husband! He is wonderful and I am so proud of him! He is, and always has worked hard for our family, and has been so committed. Through the past years, we've grown up together, and have been through many "1st's"! I enjoy spending my life with him, through tough times, and through fun and easy times. I know that without him, I would not be the person I am today! I get so excited for the many more years to come, and all the many more "1st's" we'll experience together!
I have loved you ever since you stole my heart Justin Mychal Polson!

On Monday January 23rd we went to Kylar's Golf Party!
Cute decorations in our own private party room at Leo's Place!
We ate yummy pizza, played "a-round", and totally PAR-TEED!

CUTE golfers!
The new FORE-YEAR-OLD!
Happy Birthday!
The "hole 4" cupcakes were a hit with Trace! He liked the "green"!
Kylar got something really cool for his birthday....
HIS OWN GOLF CLUBS!
After he got them out, the boys had a quick golf lesson!
Whew! We have a lot of January birthday's, and 2 more to go!
I'm making Art and Jennifer's birthday cake for their birthday on Sunday!
It's great to celebrate the people in your life!

 I love me some BIRTHDAY'S!

Our SUPER Aydan is 5 years old!

Holy BATMAN!
Our Aydan-Bug is 5!

We had such a fun birthday weekend with our BIG BOY!
I asked Aydan back in  December what he wanted his birthday to be and he said Superman. Well, Superman is not popular anymore and I had a hard time finding any decorations for a Superman party, so I went with Superhero's instead!
This worked out great because it turned Aydan into SUPER-AYDAN instead of pretending to be Superman!
He was so excited for his birthday, but even more excited that he would be 5! That meant he would be a whole "hand" old! Ha! Ha! He's such a funny kid!
I had a blast planning Aydan's party! The problem I have with this kind of stuff is once my creative juices get a flowin' the more ideas come in, and that means I have to make decisions. At one point Justin had to give me "the talk". He explained that you can only do so much in 2 hours! So I cut down....a little! You know, I didn't really know how I would feel about "boy stuff" once we had 2 boys, but I FREAKING LOVE IT! Come on....we were Superhero's all afternoon for goodness sake!

Anyway, I made Aydan's invitations on Photoshop. I really wanted them to look like a comic book page! I think they turned out great! I'm SUPER proud of them!
Friday, before Aydan's birthday I went to his school and brought CUPCAKES to celebrate with his class! AYDAN LOVED IT! He did the thing where he really wants to smile, but tries to hide it! Oh...he's the best! In my book of rules: GOOD KIDS SHOULD BE SPOILED! Aydan is an awesome kiddo, and completely got spoiled to death!
I decided to have Aydan's Superhero party on Saturday the 14th, ( a day before Aydan's actual birthday) so some friends from school could come! Sunday birthday's are hard to have around here!
Saturday came, and IT WAS AWESOME! It was a beautiful sunny day, and everyone who said they were coming came! That meant our house was FULL, and about to POP! I LOVED IT!
I made all of Aydan's Superhero decorations (cake toppers, food labels, cupcake toppers, drink labels, ect...) on Photoshop! So fun! Everything matched and was personalized for Aydan!

I think these were my favorite thing at the party!
SUCKERHERO'S!
I saw these on Pinterest, stole the image, messed with it in Photoshop, changed the colors, and AREN'T THEY ADORABLE!?
Little kids get hungry fast! I suppose it's all the energy they have/use! So I knew having a snack would be handy! So I made POPCORN FUNNELS out of comic book pages!
Ummm....snacks, and the endless amount of energy also make little people very thirsty! All those Superhero's needed some POWER (aid)!
Party favors!
Aydan's CAKE!
I made it. It is my 5th fondant cake. I really like how it turned out! I enjoy making them! This one is my 2nd favorite (I still can't get over how cute the zebra and lime green cake was) cake. I LOVE the cape!
So, at the party I wanted all the kids to be able to be their own Superhero! That meant they had to have their own get-ups! Capes, cuffs, and masks for everyone! Even the girls that came got dressed up (of course I made theirs pink and purple!)
The table cloth was SUPER AWESOME! It was like a comic book, and had games like tic tac toe on it that you could play and color on!

Once the guests arrived they got right to work on their costumes! It was so fun!
Aydan was so excited, and couldn't focus for pictures! I made his shirt, it says "five" in a comic blast!
Isn't our SUPER-AYDAN  the most!?

SUPER-TOMMIE! What a cute girl Superhero!
Popcorn snack time!
All the tiny humans at A's party! They all look so SUPER! Aydan had 5 friends from school come, Asher, Max, Lilly, Isabell, and Skylar, 6 cousins, Cru, Tommie, Dillon, Braxton, Kylar, and Collin, and 2 family friends, Korbyn, and Haydn, and of course his little bro! Aydan LOVED having everyone there to play and celebrate!
I told all the kids to jump! It was funny!
This was one of my many creative juice ideas. PIN THE MASK ON SUPER-AYDAN! Posters at Staples are only $8! Oh...I made the comic book banner above the poster also!

Another game we played was a Kryptonite Race! Kryptonite can hurt Superhero's if you touch it so we pretended that the green balls of paper were the poison! We split the kids up, and had a race to see which team could get the most Kryptonite in the baskets without touching them!

The next game we played was X-RAY VISION! Superhero's have this power you know...
I put several different things in the box for the kids to feel, and then guess what it was. SO MUCH FUN!
The last game we played was the VILLAIN BEAN BAG TOSS! I taped pictures of evil villain's on some cans, and had the kids have at it!
Present time was AWESOME! Aydan got so spoiled it's not even funny! He is such a blessed little boy to have so many friends and family that care about him!
Aunt Jessica and Traceon! To be honest, I think Aydan (and my) favorite part of the whole weekend was to have Uncle Derrick, Aunt Jess, Dillon, and Braxton stay with us! Jess is one of my best friends and she helped me a lot with Aydan's party!
Aydan has wanted the "Bat belt" for weeks! It's now any every day wardworb choice.
Happy Birthday bud!
Cake time!
Oh Aydan! We love ya so much!
While everyone was eating some cake, Daddy had one more surprise for Aydan!
A new BIKE!
Aydan turned, and said, "What?" "Is that for me?"
You betcha little boy!

He loved getting a new bike, but the green one was a little TOO big, so he got to pick out another bike. It's orange and red, and it's AWESOME! Aydan grew out of his first bike so fast, learning how to ride without training wheels and all! We knew that this Summer he would have to have a bigger bike to ride!
It was a great party for a wonderful little boy! We love him so much!
Aydan with all of his gifts!
Our SUPER family!
Now that Aydan's 5 years old I feel so seasoned! Like I've had enough experience as a mom to be taken seriously! Ha! Ha! I'm so glad we had our little A-bug! I knew the moment I was pregnant, that I loved him, and that he would forever change my life. He not only made me a mom, but has taught me so much. He has greatly exceeded my expectations as a parent, and continues to every day! He makes me proud, and I have loved every moment of being his mom.

*********************************************************
So the birthday weekend continued...
We got lots of good Polson Family time in!
The boys played with some of Aydan's new games that he got for his birthday, and the adults played, "The Game of Things", which was really fun, and we all got some good laughs in!

On Aydan's birthday morning I made pancakes, and sausage! I drew the boys' names out in pancake batter....yeah...they loved that and thought it was pretty cool!

So we wanted to treat Aydan to a birthday dinner of his choice. He chose Leo's Place (of course) and he also requested that everyone came too!
 Birthday dinner PIZZA!
Playing in the jungle gym and in the arcade!

Aydan got these teeth with his tickets!
Tra and Kylar! This pic...makes me giggle. Silly boys!
 Mommy and Daddy!
 We're weird...I know.
 Birthday cupcake/song/candle time!

My 5 year old and I, about to dig into a cupcake!

Aydan got countless Superhero toys/gadgets for his birthday. And I think this one won the "favorite toy". It's Wolverine's Claw (I think...again with the boy stuff. I try my best to keep up!).

It makes slashing noises and everything!

After Leo's Place we came home and played a game together!

Aydan and Dillon get along so well! They're like best friends! They loved spending the whole weekend together, and used their great imaginations! They played at this table for hours with puzzles, games, and Transformers!
I thought this pic was cute....they're looking at one of the comic books Aydan got for his birthday! They look so old!
These 2 are so cute! The older they get, the more they like to play with each other!
Monday night we went to Leo's Place again!
Aydan was so excited to win 100 tickets at this game!

We had such a fantastic weekend! I loved every minute of having our house full of people, especially the little kids!
Thank you so much for celebrating our Aydan!
