What makes Easter, Easter?

What makes Easter, Easter for you?
I know what it means for me; I'm a Christian!
But, what's with the bunny, eggs, and all that?
It's super fun and everything but what's it got to do with Jesus Christ?
Welp...I looked it up....so I'll tell ya a little bit later on in this fun Easter post!

To start our Easter weekend we dyed Easter Eggs on Friday! I found a SUPERHERO egg kit that I HAD to get for the boys! They LOVED it of course!
Here they are stirring the dye into vinegar and water!

Aydan-Bug dipping and egg into orange dye!

Tra getting help from daddy, dipping his egg into pink dye!

Waiting for the eggs to take their color!

NICE AND BRIGHT!

Tra getting ready to put some hero stickers on his egg!

Aydan doing the same thing as Trace!

This kit had little superhero masks for the eggs that I thought were adorable! Here is Tra with a Spider man egg!

And Aydan!

Brothers with the finished eggs!

That night they fell asleep while we were tickling their backs....how cute!

Saturday we got ready for the Easter Bunny by planting jelly beans in our front yard to see if they would grow anything on this magical night!

And set out our Easter Baskets, and eggs for the Bunny to fill and hide!
Early Easter morning (6:10am) to be exact the boys went on a hunt to find their missing baskets!
The Easter Bunny was smart and knew it would be and early morning and hid their baskets in tricky places, so it took them a long time to find them, leaving mom and dad to sleep in a bit longer ; )

Tra's Easter basket was in the front closet hiding in the coats!

Aydan's was hanging from the ceiling fan in their toy room!

Getting ready to see what they got from the Bunny!

Some cool shades...

Traceon got a doctor dress up outfit, shades, a toy helicopter, Thomas the train bubbles, and lots of candy!

Aydan got a remote control helicopter, a toy helicopter, shades, spider man bubbles, and lots of candy!

And they got right to playing...and mom and dad went back to bed!

Later we went out to find that SUCKERS grew in place of our jelly beans! How fun!

The Easter Bunny hid all 85 of their eggs outside filled with skittles and star bursts! Mom's favorite candy! ; )

Found them all!

It was so nice we decided to stay outside and blow our new bubbles, and rock our new shades!

 SPRING HAS SPRUNG.....
BUGS
FLOWERS
AND BUDS!

After outside fun we read the Easter Story from the Bible with my special Resurrection Eggs! The boys took turns opening each egg to see what was inside. Each egg had something in it to remind us of a part of the story, like, praying hands when Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane, a rock from Jesus' tomb, and an empty egg to remind us of his Resurrection! I think it was cool for Aydan! The eggs helped the story become less scary, and more AMAZING!

That afternoon we went to Gpa Polson's house for another Egg Hunt! How cute are all these kiddos!?
Kylar, Aydan, Collin, Addison (Adam, Justin's stepbrother's fiance's little girl) and Traceon!
Then they all got to go on a trailer ride behind the lawnmower!
Gpa Polson brought out his old lawnmower to race! Silly....
Big Brother helped Little Brother swing on the swings!

Now for where the Easter Bunny came from....
History says that the word "Easter" (back in the day) came from  a Pagan Goddess named "Eastre" and it's meaning was Spring or Fertility. Eastre apparently got mad at a bunny a long time ago, and punished him by making him lay colored eggs. She was worshiped or celebrated in the Springtime. Passover,  has been celebrated since Jesus' Resurrection but "Easter" didn't become a celebrated holiday in America until the 1870's!
So Easter Bunny came from Spring time Goddess, and her anger issues....
Eggs came from celebrating new life at Spring time....
And of course the celebration of our Savior's Resurrection!
All around this Easter holiday is  a great time to celebrate new life, new beginnings, re-birth, and Jesus saving our lives! So basically about life! Hope you enjoyed learning with me today!

Hope you all had a
 FANTASTIC EASTER!

Fun bubble pictures - well fun pictures all around.
Isn't God awesome? Using His creation to point us to Him...pouring out His love in everything he created.I'm so happy you're teaching all of us about Him.

Love, Mom

Cute idea to plant jelly beans! We might have to remind the Easter Bunny to do that for our kids next year! I see your trailer in the background of some of your pics.......we need to plan a camping trip. And soon! :)
