So Justin and I have decided to do a Polson Family Night once a week with just us.
I have a zillion ideas "pinned" on Pinterest, and NEED TO USE THEM!
; )
So every week we have a different theme and we put each kid in charge of snacks and drinks. If it is Aydan, he gets to do it all by himself! Trace still needs some help though!
Last week we decided to start out by taking the boy's to the Museum to the the King Tut display. We knew Trace wouldn't enjoy it very much, and that Aydan would have 1,100 questions, but we also knew it was educational and we were together learning as a family.
Goal+Theme=Success.
Aydan was very intrigued by the whole "mummy" thing, and had 1,000,000,000 questions.
While we were there, one volunteer decided to give us some of his knowledge about King Tut's heritage. Continuing with how King Tut's mom and dad were brother and sister.
UMMMMMMMM...............
As soon as those words left the volunteer's lips, I saw Aydan look straight up at us with a "WHAT?" look on his face.
Yeah....the question's flew.
20 minutes later, after discussing incest with our 5 year old, Aydan came to some peace with the history of King Tut, and came to the conclusion that he was "weird."
Ha! Ha!
We thought the trip was going to be mostly about mummy's for Aydan, and it being close-ish to Halloween, being a perfect topic. Until Mr. Volunteer. Oh well, Aydan was going to learn about such things at some point in his life!
The replica statue's and tomb's were really cool!
A Throne!
A Chariot!
The boys and I!
King Tut's coffin!
Replica of King Tut's "mummy body!"
Outside of the museum!

This week we started to let Aydan ride the BUS home!
We still take him to school, in fear that someone might scoop him up on his way to his class line, because he's just so dang cute!
He loves it! It's fun to hear his 5 min bus ride stories!

This week our Family Night was making a craft!
So, we made SOCKTOPUS'S!
Aydan was is charge of snack. He got everyone a bowl of ice cream with sprinkles on top!
He did a great job, and even cleaned up after himself without being asked!
Here are the boy's working on their socktopus's!
Here's Tra's finished "friend!"
Aydan's finished "friend!"
Cute right? They love them, and it totally made them feel super special!
I can't wait for next week's family night! Yay for our cute family, and the special things we do to enjoy each other that much more!

This week I helped make a little girl feel super special on her birthday!
I GOT TO MAKE A PRINCESS BARBIE CAKE!
I always wanted one as a little girl, and was so stoked to get to make one!
Trace helped me by destroying opening Cinderella from her box!
Yay! I LOVE making cakes!
Isn't she just the most?!
I wish I would have got her dress pleats to work a little better! But, none the less, I am proud of my work! I hope I get to make more "girly" cakes in the future! My boy's will probably not ever want a barbie cake.....; )
